Weekend Holiday Events in Orange County

There is a lot to see and do this holiday season in the Hudson Valley so be sure to take advantage.

This weekend I wanted to share a few events with your that are happening across Orange County!

First its the annual Candlelight Tour of historic homes being held on Friday 12-5pm. The event hosted by the Newburgh Historical Society takes visitors through dozens of historical homes and mansions in the Newburgh area, all beautifully decorated for the season. Tickets are just $30, there is a discount for tickets purchased in advance.

Then on Sunday, it's the return of “Warm Up at the Washington's”. This annual holiday open house is free to the public, held at Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site.

Guests can wonder through grounds, roaming the same halls as General and Mrs. Washing during their winters at the property. There will also be music to enjoy and some cookies and cider by an outdoor fire. The event runs from 12-4pm. For more information call 845-562-1195.

Heading over to Goshen this weekend be sure to check out Watt Christmas Wonderland. Now in their 10th year this drive through winter wonderland has dazzling light shows and tons of decorations to enjoy. Open every evening 6-9pm weather permitting Nov 27-Dec 29, a $5 donation is suggested. Watts Christmas wonderland is located at 310 Scotchtown Road, Goshen, NY 10924

In New Windsor there are a few family friendly events also happening this weekend at Devitt's Nursery. Friday through Sunday join them for Eggbert's Christmas on the Farm. A legend here in the Hudson Valley, join Eggbert the giant egg as he holds court. In addition to the famous egg there will also be animals, colorful displays, tasty treats and more. But Eggbert is not the only famous character who can be spotted at Devitts this weekend. Also making an appearance, Frozen's Elsa and Anna.

On Friday evening be sure to stop by the nursery for Once Upon a Tea Party, a special evening with Frozen's Elsa and Anna. The even will be held this Friday from 6pm-8pm and costs $6.00 per person, 3 y/o and under - Free.
