A Congressman from New York delayed a Congressional proceedings because he pulled a fire alarm claiming he thought that it would open a door. Don't you just hate it when that happens?

Jamaal Bowman has made headlines and has quickly become the butt of a lot of jokes after pulling a fire alarm in a Congressional Building over the weekend which resulted in an evacuation. This was just ahead of a vote for a 45-day stopgap to prevent a government shutdown according to The Hill.

Jamaal Bowman represents New York's 16th district as a Democrat. According to his Wikipedia page, he was an educator. You would think that he has seen a few fire alarms and would know not to never activate one when there is no emergency.

What Bowman did isn't just dumb it is also illegal and he could face misdemeanor or felony charges if it is proven that he did it on purpose.

His colleagues and others who are familiar with the building are not buying his story.
