While there was no $950 Million winner on Saturday night, one Hudson Valley resident did win a small fortune in this week's Powerball drawing.

18,315,365 people bought tickets for Saturday night's record-setting drawing. Although there was no Powerball winner, the Lottery says that $159 Million were still handed out in prizes. One million-dollar winner is from the Hudson Valley.

According to the New York Lottery, a winning ticket was sold at Stewart’s Shop on Route 9 in Valatie. The Columbia County ticket holder is one of three second-place winners from New  York. The other were sold in Queens and on Long Island. In total, 25 people from across the country are now millionaires thanks to this week's Powerball.

The next drawing will be held this Wednesday with an estimated prize of $1.3 billion. The lump sum would be $806 million before taxes. This will be the largest jackpot ever given out in a lottery, shattering the old record of $656 million set back in 2012.

Currently the chances of hitting a powerball are 1 in 300 million. But, as they say, you never know.  Will you be playing this week?
