Teachers in the Hudson Valley do a whole lot more than teach. They juggle lesson plans, grading, meetings, emails, technology that almost works, and the occasional mystery noise coming from the back of the classroom — all before lunch. They’re underpaid, overworked, and somehow still come in with a smile every day. That’s exactly why WRRV introduces Homeroom Heroes, because if anyone deserves a little extra recognition (and $250 in cash), it’s our local teachers.

WRRV’s Homeroom Heroes is our way of shining a spotlight on the educators who go above and beyond for their students every single day. Whether it’s a teacher who stays late to help struggling kids, one who makes learning fun against all odds, or the one who simply refuses to give up on their classroom no matter what gets thrown their way, these are the heroes who shape the future of the Hudson Valley.

Nominate a Hudson Valley Teacher to become one of WRRV's Hometown Heroes!

Thanks to Mid Hudson Pump Co. Inc, each month we'll honor one Hudson Valley teacher who will receive $250 — because while apples are nice, they don’t pay the bills. More importantly, they’ll receive public recognition for the impact they make both inside and outside the classroom.

If you know a teacher who inspires, motivates, supports, or somehow keeps their sanity while doing all of the above, now is your chance to say thank you. Nominate them for WRRV’s Homeroom Heroes below!
