A major multi-million wine complex has been proposed for a small village in the Hudson Valley. A major beer project has also been proposed for Orange County.

The Times-Herald Record reports that a brand new $5 million wine complex is planned for the village of Montgomery. The complex would include a winery, restaurant, music space, and hotel. It is planned to open on Factory Road in the village.

The plan is to have the space for wine tastings and private events like weddings or corporate functions. A wine production facility on the property would make 30,000 to 40,000 cases of wine annually, according to the article. 10 acres of the 22-acre property would be used to plant grapes.

The founder of City Winery, a high-end chain, has reached an agreement with the owner of Montgomery Mills, a former yarn factory, to purchase the property. If the sale is approved, the plan would transform the old factory into City Winery's first non-urban property, according to the Record.

The founder of City Winery and CEO, Michael Dorf, decided on Montgomery for this project because of the view of the Wallkill River and his love for the Hudson Valley region. A major beer project has also been proposed for Orange County.

It is expected to open by fall 2019.
