Seven Newburgh men were arrested after police say they seized heroin, cocaine, pills, loaded guns, a bulletproof vest and more.

On Thursday around 6 a.m., City of Newburgh Police, with the help from the Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force conducted a search warrant at a home on Benkard Avenue in the City of Newburgh.

The search warrant was a result of an investigation into narcotics sales from the location, police say. Officers searched the location and allegedly seized three loaded defaced handguns, approximately 31 grams of heroin, around 25 grams of cocaine, 23 Oxycodone pills, a bulletproof vest, ammunition, several scales, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

Russell McDonald Jr., 25, a 23-year-old, 55-year-old Russell McDonald Sr., Shantiqua McDonald, 26, 29-year-old Jasmeen Punter, 24-year-old Jessica Tsatsaron and Alasia Johnson, 30, all of the City of Newburgh were arrested.

All were charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance,

All were processed and then held for arraignment in City of Newburgh Court.
