It's been five years since Alice in Chains dropped The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here. In recent weeks, they've discussed the follow-up, and they started posting cryptic teasers on social media earlier this week. This morning, they finally released new music as they posted the music video for "The One You Know."

The track moves along with a mid-tempo churn hinging on distorted muted chugs to fuel the dingy atmosphere. Light snare rolls build up the tension over the opening moments of "The One You Know" and there's finally a reprieve over the more sing-song chorus that shines with hallmarks of Alice in Chains' past.

The remaining details behind the new record remain veiled in mystery. What we do know is that Alice in Chains entered Studio X in Seattle for the first time since laying down their self-titled album more than two decades ago. They worked with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who was at the helm of the last two Alice in Chains albums, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here and Black Gives Way to Blue.

Alice in Chains kicked off their headlining tour in Boston on April 29 (see photos here) and the North American run will extend through May 19 before the band heads over to Europe. Look for the band to return to North America in late August and see a list of all stops at this location.
