If you've been craving some Shake Shack burgers and fries, you just may be in luck - though, for a lot of us here in Mid Hudson area, it will involve some driving.

Of course, this all depends if you don't want to have to put up with the crowds and parking situation at their current location in the Commons.

LoHud is reporting that the popular burger chain might be opening a new location in Rockland County. The proposed new restaurant could replace Michael's Tuxedo Shop on Route 59 and Middletown Road in Nanuet. LoHud reports that the old building would be torn down to make way for the new Shake Shack, as well as a Chipotle Mexican Grill.

According to their website, Shake Shack currently has thirty two locations in New York, with the aforementioned Woodbury Common location being the closest. After that, you've got their Central Avenue location in Hartsdale, and the Cross County Shopping Center spot in Yonkers.

Almost all the other Shakes Shacks are in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island...as well as their only upstate location at the Saratoga Race Course.

LoHud says the proposal will go before the Zoning Board February 11. From there, the request faces more levels of bureaucracy and could get the green light by summer 2019.

If everything passes, it is uncertain what the future holds for the tuxedo shop, and if it will relocate anywhere.
