Anyone catch that giant ball of flame in the sky last night?

I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords and wish them the best of luck!

Well, not really.

According to LoHud.com, the American Meteor Society (that's the best name EVER!) and hundreds of eye witness accounts, there was a fairly spectacular visible meteor that streaked through the sky last night (12/29). There's a ton of accounts about how it looked, and apparently it broke into 2 pieces just before it went out.

I've attached a video of the meteor captured on a dashcam in a car on Route 287 in NJ.

Anyone else manage to catch a shot of the meteor in the Hudson Valley?
