Just when it looked like Arcade Fire were though covering other people's songs during the band's tour stops in those artists' hometowns, they pulled one out again last night. And this time they brought out the singer of the song to help them.

The song: 'The Cutter.' The band: Echo & the Bunnymen. The singer: Ian McCulloch.

You can watch the action, which took place in London during Arcade Fire's stop there, above. (Yes, Echo & the Bunnymen are from Liverpool, but Arcade Fire have been bending the rules all tour long -- see their Kansas and R.E.M. covers.)

Admittedly, the fan-shot video isn't the best, which is to be expected, but the audio is pretty good, and it sounds like Arcade Fire are getting pretty good at this sorta thing. It's a faithful cover of Echo & the Bunnymen's 1983 single -- one of their all-time best.
