If you were traveling on Route 52 near Ellenville Tuesday morning your commute may have been a bit longer than normal.

The Times Herald Record is reporting that a beer truck lost control going down a hill before veering off into a ditch, and then going full airborne. The driver was treated on scene and then taken to Ellenville Regional Hospital where he received further treatment for minor injuries.

Sadly, all that good beer may be lost.

The scene was an absolute mess with kegs and cases of beer said to be thrown all over the place. If a box truck going airborne isn't crazy enough, imagine seeing all that booze scattered near the main road as you're driving by.

The Times Herald Record says that the weather may have been a factor in the accident. Not only are the roads slick from all the rain we've had, but the fact that so many leaves have fallen on the roads this past week could make driving dangerous.

Police say no other vehicles were hit. The Record says an investigation is pending.
