Billy Corgan teased his new record Ogilala with the single "Aeronaut." Now, he's released a video for the song, which can be viewed above.

As Rolling Stone notes, the clip also serves as a preview of a virtual reality experience for the record that Corgan is expecting to launch early next year. Corgan, dressed in white and brightly lit, is playing a black piano as the scenery continuously changes around him. The effect was conceived by Danny Bittman, who worked with Viacom NEXT and Isobar to bring it to life. Corgan's performance was recorded at the Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture Studio in Redmond, Wash.

Released three weeks ago, Ogilala was produced by Rick Rubin. It's Corgan's second solo album, after TheFutureEmbrace in 2005. Corgan played all of the instruments, except for an appearance by his former Smashing Pumpkins bandmate James Iha on "The Processional." That was the first time he and Corgan have recorded together since 2000's Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music.

Reconecting with Iha is one of the steps Corgan has taken to patch up the wounds with the original lineup of Smashing Pumpkins. Last year, he revealed that he and bassist D'arcy Wretzky have become friends again, which prompted a slate of reunion talk. Last month, Corgan admitted that he's open to working with them again.

"I'm totally cool with the idea that if you come see some iteration of Pumpkins 5.0," he said. "It’ll be focused on the '90s era of work. It’ll be a real celebration; we’ll get the closure we never had. And a 22-year-old who has only ever heard about the myth can come and see it in some form. I think we’d still be fine.”
