The New York State Police have provided an update after a body was found floating in a Hudson Valley creek on Sunday, November 2nd 2025.

Authorities shared that troopers from Troop F in Coxsackie, NY received a call reporting an unidentified man in the Catskill Creek in Catskill, NY. Police now say the person has been identified.

Body Discovered in Catskill Creek Identified

On Tuesday, November 4th, the NYSP released an update on the case, naming 32-year-old Catskill, NY resident Mckinley Smith as the person found in the Catskill Creek. The investigation into Mr. Smith's death is ongoing, and police shared that they have not identified a cause of death.
