A Hudson Valley traffic stop lead to a dramatic foot chase and eventual escape for a man wanted on outstanding warrant. Authorities in Chester are looking for clues as to his whereabouts.

The Wednesday traffic stop occurred in the Whispering Hills section of town according to the Times Herald Record. Village police recognized the suspect and attempted to take him into custody, but the unidentified man had other plans apparently. He took off through back yards and eventually the woods, so authorities say he could be anywhere.

The incident occurred just after 3 PM Wednesday and the state police Aviation Unit was called in for assistance. State Troopers from the Community Enforcement Team were on hand to assist as well

According to Village of Chester Police Chief Peter Graziano Jr., there were several people riding in the car, including the suspects girlfriend. They were questioned and released after cooperating with authorities.

Anyone with information should call (845) 469-4681. It's possible he's fled the area, but you never know.
