A Connecticut man is accused of rape in the Hudson Valley.

On Saturday, New York State Police in Monroe arrested, Lucas C. Xavier, 21, of Bridgefield, C.T. for rape, a Class B Felony.

Xavier was arrested as a result of an investigation conducted by the New York State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation over the course of several months.

The alleged rape occurred in the town of Woodbury. Xavier is accused of forcible sexual intercourse with an unwilling party, police say. More details about the victim weren't released.

Xavier turned himself in at the State Police barracks in Monroe for processing. Xavier was arraigned and subsequently remanded to Orange County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
