How Should New York Respond to CT’s Pizza Capital Signs?
The across the border into Connecticut debate over pizza, and which pie reigns supreme is not new, but recent signage put up at the Connecticut and New York state borders on certain highways, that's new.
There's been a great deal of chatter following Wednesday's installation of some 'Welcome to Connecticut' signage, and it appears that many neighboring states have some thoughts.

On Wednesday September 4th, bright blue highway signs went up between CT and neighboring states, in NY these were along I-95, I-84. One sign though, had a pretty massive and perhaps controversial claim.
In an effort to 're-invigorate' the Connecticut marketing towards out-of-staters, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont had a series of signs installed at state lines to welcome people to CT. Some about basketball, others about the state being the' Foodie Capital of New England,' some informing drivers that Connecticut is the 'Submarine Capital of the World,' and then there was this one...

Massachusetts Responds to Connecticut Welcome Signage
Not surprisingly, Massachusetts was quick to respond to the CT signage regarding basketball, as even though UConn's years of basketball championships are certainly something to celebrate, basketball was actually invented down the road and across the border in Springfield, MA. Home to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, Springfield celebrates and honors being the birthplace of basketball with a 40,000 square foot space filled with history.
Following the installation of the signage, MA Governor Maura Healey made some corrections to the basketball capital claims and signage.
So, with MA taking their stance, what's our move, New York? How do we let CT know that even though they may have some great spots to grab a slice, that here in the empire state, we're actually the top dog when it comes to pizza?
