Daily Cheap Flights From Hudson Valley to Europe Cleared for Takeoff
It appears daily cheap flights from the Hudson Valley to Europe are finally happening.
In December, European budget airline Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA announced plans to setup U.S. bases, including one at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh.
“It’s going to be great,” Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus told Hudson Valley Post at the time. “This will add about 21 flights (weekly). It’s going to help everyone in the area.”
In December, it was believed that Norwegian would offer flights from Stewart to England, Scotland, Ireland and Norway with plans to add Paris in the very near future.
It took longer than expected, but the Federal Aviation Administration approved Norwegian Air to begin flights to and from the United States, reports Travel and Leisure.
The approval allows Norwegian to operate seven Boeing 737-800s at Stewart International Airport, the T.F. Green Airport in Rhode Island and the Bradley International Airport in Connecticut.
Flights will originate from Belfast International Airport in Ireland, Bergen Airport in Norway, Dublin Airport in Ireland, Cork Airport in Ireland, Shannon Airport in Ireland and Edinburgh Airport in Scotland.
Flights from the Hudson Valley to European locations could cost as little as $69 for a one-way ticket, a spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal.
