Is this legal? Looking for a great bagel in Danbury, CT? Ok, give me a pass on this one. Come on. How many times have you been to Stew Leonard's just to watch the lobster flip around on the high wire or the cow moo in the meat department? I know you do it.

It was not my intention to get bagels that day. But it was the site of the bagel bins that did me in! Cheddar jalapeno? Egg? Multi-Grain that looks like bird seed! I was in. Price was great, under $4 for 6. The plain bagel (yes, I love the multi-grain here and will be back to get more) was a great breakfast bagel. Not too large, not too small.

These are pleasantly pale. Un-toasted plain, they have a slightly sweet taste to them that is only emphasized by toasting and using a healthy dose of butter. Not a heavy chew. On a scale of one to five I would say that the "chew factor" of this bagel is a two. Toasted with cream cheese and this is what you would expect from every diner, deli or place that you would go to searching for "Bagel & Cream Cheese" please.

Worth the trip to Danbury for just these? No. But if you happen to be there or want to search out Twinkee The Kid... or Mooing Cows in the meat department. Grab a few, especially since (for a store) they have a vast variety of different flavors, biales too.

Just a reminder, we pay for all of the bagels used in Bagel Battle and although we eat several in our "research" the only one that we examine is the plain.
