The Hyde Park Summer Night Car Cruise is one of the best weekly events that runs through the spring, summer and fall! It's got music, food, raffles, good friends, and of course, all the amazing hot rods! Last year ended with a spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat event, which honestly, was probably one of the best Halloween events I had seen in general last season.

Hyde Park Summer Nights Car Cruise Returns This May

The Hyde Park Summer Nights Car Cruise started this year on Wednesday from May 1st and will run through October from 5 pm to 9 pm each Wednesday, weather permitting. The Car Cruise used to only be until 8 pm, but due to popular demand, it has been extended! That way, people who are racing out of work don't have to worry about missing out on too much of the action. The Car Cruise had to take a few weeks off in June due to the severe heat and weather, but rest assured, they are still cruising along for the season!

It was announced on their Facebook Page earlier today:

It's that time!!! Dust them off, fill them up, and bring them out to play!! First show in 2 days! check here after 3:00 for all updates due to weather.

Come and hang out with some old friends and make some new friends! Plus, show off your hot rod to potentially win prizes. The Hyde Park Summer Night Car Cruise will be handing out trophies at the end of each evening.

People can also win the 50/50 raffle, plus other prizes will be raffled off. And as you enjoy your evening, listen to some classic tunes from their live DJ. Song requests are welcomed and encouraged.

I attended many of the weekly car cruises last year, and they were a blast. I would typically get a meatball sub or sausage and peppers from the food truck, I'd walk around and learn more about all the cars, and it was a great check-in with friends.

I ended up running into people I hadn't seen in a long time, and I was able to catch up with them. It's hard to beat hot rods, hot food, and hot music at the end of a hot summer day.
