Hudson Valley Baker Stars on New Food Network Competition
Not that we were looking for a reason to stay inside and watch TV this summer, but now we kinda have to. One of Kingston, NY's favorite bakers is starring in a new competition show on the Food Network, and she needs our support.
There's never a shortage of talent in the Hudson Valley, and culinary expertise is on the top of the list. Summer Baking Championship is hosted by Jesse Palmer and already airing on the Food Network. Let's meet our baker!
Anrika Martin of Di Sweet Spot on Food Network
Anrika Martin of Di Sweet Spot by One N Only Cakes in Kingston, NY is competing against nine other contestants for a grand prize of $25,000 and the title of "Summer Baking Champion". It's safe to say Ms. Martin has a few special tricks up her sleeves.
Martin's bakery has a five-star rating on Google, and the "summer" theme of the Food Network's competition might be right in her wheel house, as Di Sweet Spot proudly infuses Caribbean influence in many of their desserts. Unsurprisingly, the Hudson Valley is cheering for their hometown hero.
"Awesome. Hope she wins", cheered an Ulster County resident. "You are the greatest", added another. While the show hasn't even finished its season, Martin is already making her mark on the community.
"My daughter is a huge fan of Food Network, and she has been so excited to watch Anrika on Summer Baking Championship", read a recent review of the bakery. "We surprised her with desserts made by Anrika for her graduation party. Every single thing was out of this world! If you want to have a superstar parenting moment and your kids like baking, have them check out the show then meet Anrika - she was absolutely wonderful with my daughter, who has called it “the best day of her life”.
