If you’ve ever dreamed of having your very own slithery, scaly, or slimy friend, then mark your calendar for Sunday, October 27th!

The Mid-Hudson Reptile Expo is back in Poughkeepsie, and it’s bringing more reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates than you can count.

Held at the Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center (Mid-Hudson Civic Center)

This event runs from 9 AM to 4 PM and promises to be a wild time for anyone interested in the exotic pet scene.

With over 250 vendor tables, this expo is the largest reptile show in the New York metropolitan area. You'll find thousands of live animals on display and for sale, so whether you’re looking to bring home a new pet or just want to marvel at these incredible creatures, there’s something for everyone.

Plus, they’ve got all the supplies you need to get started as a proud reptile parent—no excuses!

Admission is easy: adults (13+) are $12, kids ages 7-12 get in for $6, and little ones under 6 are free. If you’re a veteran or a college student with ID, you get 50% off—so make sure to bring your badge or student card.

Reptiles make great pets for busy people who don’t have the time or space for a dog or cat. They’re low maintenance, hypoallergenic, and don’t need much day-to-day care.

Plus, they’re quiet, odor-free, and won’t leave fur all over your furniture.

Since they spend most of their time in their habitats, there’s no need for training or constant attention, making them an ideal option for those looking for a chill, easy-to-care-for companion.

Even if reptiles aren’t your thing, this is still a unique opportunity to check out a world many people don’t get to see up close. Who knows? You might walk out with a newfound love for our cold-blooded friends.
