A brazen theft has caught the attention of the New York State Police after they were reportedly seen on surveillance cameras stealing items meant for the less fortunate from a donation shed.

Alongside what could be described as a getaway driver, the NYSP shared that multiple items were stolen. Now, they're asking for the public's help in identifying the thieves.

Donation Shed Robbed in Upstate New York

While details are sparse, police hope that someone recognizes the person seen entering the shed and leaving with donated items. From the NYSP:

Someone entered a clothes donation shed in Clifton Park and stole items meant for those in need. They were assisted by another individual with a white Honda SUV. We are asking for the public’s help in identifying these individuals

While the theft occurred in January, the NYSP only recently published the surveillance stills in their quest to identify the culprits (below). At time of publishing, the post has been shared more than 200 times.

The spirit of giving is strong across New York State, with similar donation sheds and even community refrigerators offering assistance to fellow residents. While most New Yorkers seem to spend their time giving to these resources, that doesn't seem to be the case for the two people caught on camera in Clifton Park.
