Drug Raid on Main Street: Three Arrested in Poughkeepsie
A recent drug raid on Main Street in Poughkeepsie led to the arrest of three men following an extensive investigation into local drug sales.
Recent Arrests
On Thursday morning, Ronald Davis (47), Bernard Diggs (27), and Leonardo De La Cruz (25) were taken into custody. Their arrests were part of a larger investigation initiated by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force and Sheriff’s Office, prompted by numerous complaints about drug-related activities in the 400 and 500 blocks of Main Street.
Investigation Details
Residents reported suspicious activity involving the sale of narcotics at all hours, particularly on Main and South Clinton Streets. Agents conducted undercover purchases of cocaine and fentanyl, leading to the issuance of a search warrant for 407 Main Street, a vehicle, and the suspects themselves.
On the day of the raid, members of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Emergency Services Unit, along with local police and New York State Police, executed the warrant. They seized significant quantities of crack cocaine and fentanyl.
Legal Consequences
Davis faces multiple serious charges, including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree with intent to sell, while Diggs and De La Cruz also face significant felony charges. Davis has been remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail, whereas Diggs and De La Cruz were released after arraignment.
