A man in Ellenville wasn't ready to call it a night after one too many at a town tavern on Saturday -- even when Ulster County Sheriff's Office deputies showed up.

Authorities say James T. Reilly, 38, sent a deputy to the hospital after he refused to leave a bar. Reilly was charged with assault, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

A 911 call summoned Ulster County Sheriff's Office deputies to deal with a drunk patron. When officers arrived, they identified Reilly as the intoxicated person in question. Authorities say Reilly acted belligerent and resisted officers as they tried to take him into custody.

A deputy sustained an injury during the arrest and was treated at a local hospital and released.

Reilly was transported to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office Wawarsing substation. He was arraigned in the Village of Ellenville Justice Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 secured.
