A Newburgh woman is accused of driving while three times over the legal limit of intoxication and then crashing into a UPS truck on the New York State Thruway.

New York State Police responded to an accident on a section of the Thruway in Woodbury shortly after midnight on Sunday, Dec. 22. Meghan L. Davis, 35, was driving a Jeep Wrangler when she struck the side of a UPS truck as both vehicles were traveling northbound, New York State Police said in a press release issued Tuesday. Police determined at the scene that Davis was intoxicated and took her into custody.

When Davis' blood alcohol content was measured at New York State Police barracks in Newburgh, her blood alcohol content was measured at 0.28 percent, State Police said. Davis was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. She was processed and released to a sober third party. Davis was issued an appearance ticket to the Town of Woodbury Court for Jan. 7, 2020.

No injuries were sustained in the accident.
