Dutchess County has been selected among the nations best when it comes to the use of technology and innovation to better serve local residents. According to a press release, the county has been in the 10 ten for the past 14 years but this year finds itself at number two.

The annual survey is broken down in to population categories and Dutchess County falls into the 250,000-499,000 range. The survey is held by the Center for Digital Government and National Association of Counties.

Technology advancement efforts fall under the responsibility of the County Office of Central and Information Services (OCIS). OCIS Commisioner Glenn Marchi aims to continue in the departments efforts to present county resources in a way that is user-friendly and easily accessible.
