Why is Elon Musk Now Coming to the Hudson Valley?
We say it all the time, you never know who you may bump into in the Hudson Valley. From movie sets hiding in plain sight, to celebrity owned local businesses, and musicians, actors and actresses visiting our favorite Hudson Valley restaurants, you have to keep your eyes open.
This news came as somewhat of a surprise, that a well known (and sometimes controversial) billionaire will be speaking at what is being called a 'fireside chat' speech at our very own United States Military Academy.
Elon Musk to Deliver 'Fireside Chat' Keynote Speech at USMA, West Point
The biggest question I have is what color Cybertruck will deliver Elon Musk to West Point on Friday ahead of this speaking engagement, or does his aircraft just land right on site?
Tesla CEO, X owner billionaire Elon Musk is set to be the keynote speaker on Friday August 16th at at the United States Military Academy at West Point as part of their convocation. A convocation is typically held to signify the start of an academic year or program.
The New York Times reports that attendance for West Point cadets and faculty at the convocation is not mandatory, and Musk's speech is being billed as a 'fireside chat.' "The Human and the Machine: Leadership on the Emerging Battlefield" is the academic year's intellectual theme at West Point for 24-25.
The decision to invite Musk to speak to the cadets has not come without controversy and criticism, as evident below:

Not The First Military Academy Visit For Elon Musk
Musk is no stranger to military events and appearances. Just last winter, Musk tweeted a photo of himself at one of the biggest rivalry games in sports, Army vs. Navy at Boston's Gillette Stadium. He was spotted in the stadium with his son X Æ A-Xii.
Back in 2022, Musk visited the Air Force Academy in Colorado, reportedly telling cadets to fight the discouragement that researchers encounter, sharing the following:
Prototypes are easy; production is hard. We remember mistakes more than successes.
