Upstate New York Town Clerk Dismissed Friend’s Tickets, Police
A Hudson Valley woman is accused of using her job as a town clerk to dismiss tickets.
On Valentine's Day, New York State Police announced the arrest of an Ulster County woman who serves as a town clerk.

New York State Police Arrest Town of Saugerties Clerk For Official Misconduct, More
According to New York State Police, 25-year-old Haley Whalen was an employee with the Town of Saugerties Court. She's accused of using her job to dismiss tickets issued to people she knew.
"An investigation revealed that Whalen, a court clerk with the Town of Saugerties Court, unofficially used her credentials to dismiss tickets on behalf of acquaintances," New York State Police stated in a press release.

Police didn't say how many tickets she allegedly dismissed.

Whalen was arrested by the New York State Highland Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation on Tuesday, Feb. 13. She was charged with falsifying business records in the first degree, four counts of tampering the public records in the first degree, four counts of official misconduct and four counts of criminal contempt.

She was remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash/ $20,000 bond/ $40,000 partially secured bond.
