Modest Mouse and the Pixies Take Over NYC With August Concerts; Enter To Win Tickets

Two amazing bands will take over NYC when they perform at Rooftop at Pier 17 this summer! Pixies and Modest Mouse are coming to the big city on August 21st and 22nd for a highly anticipated two-night concert event.

Without the Pixies, alternative rock would not be where it is today. Their unique song structure, their punk and surf rock mix, and their use of unorthodox subject matter in their music turned heads and skyrocketed them into fame. They helped usher in the alt-rock boom of the 90s and influenced many future bands including, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and Nirvana. Their signature songs are Where Is My Mind? and Here Comes Your Man.

Modest Mouse was formed in 1993, influenced in part by the Pixies, and other bands including Pavement and Talking Heads. They gained mainstream success by pairing their emotionally charged lyrics with incredibly catchy melodies. Perfect examples of this can be found in their signature songs, Float On and Ocean Breathes Salty.
