I Can’t Wait for Oktoberfest!

I’m incredibly excited for Oktoberfest at Germania of Poughkeepsie! This will be my first time at this Oktoberfest. It’s extra special because I’m taking my 10-year-old son to his very first Oktoberfest ever. Although I’ll be enjoying just one beer—maybe two—I’m thrilled to share this experience with him.

Embracing a Beloved Tradition

Even though I’m not German by heritage, I’ve always felt a deep connection to German culture. After attending the Oktoberfest in Munich, I developed a real affinity for the festival and its joyful, communal spirit. There’s something about the vibrant atmosphere, the traditional music, and the hearty food that I absolutely love. I’m eager to bring that same sense of celebration to my son and introduce him to this fantastic tradition.

Enjoying the Festive Delights

I’m looking forward to savoring some delicious German treats while at Germania’s Oktoberfest. Bratwurst, pretzels, and Oma’s famous Apfelstrudel are definitely on my list, but I’ll be keeping my beer indulgence to a minimum since I’ll be focused on making this a memorable experience for my son. With live German bands, fun games, contests, and a special Kinder Playground, I know we’ll both have a blast.

Germania of Poughkeepsie has been a cornerstone of celebrating German culture since 1850, and their commitment to preserving these traditions is inspiring. I’m excited to be part of this festival, enjoying authentic Bavarian hospitality and creating wonderful memories with my son.
