Experience The Home Of FDR As It Was Back In The Day
The annual Christmas open house at the home of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt will take place December 8th in Hyde Park. The free event at the Roosevelt's Springwood home will feature decorations as they were during the time of his presidency. Doors will be open from 9 AM until 4 PM and there is no charge.
There is still time to catch the featured exhibit that was launched in April called 'The Art of War: American Poster Art 1941-1945 which will run through December 31st.
The FDR Museum is normally open seven days a week and features seasonal hours. November through April, they're open 9 AM - 5 PM and from April through October those hours extend to 6 PM. The National Park Service operates tours of the mansion while the library is self-guided. The only days the facilities are closed are Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.
Please note they've taken a stand on the use of 'selfie sticks'. They are prohibited in the home, library and research facility.
