On Wednesday September 6th, the East Fishkill Police Department were called to a mobile home on Moart Lane according to a the departments Facebook page. It was reported that the mobile home, located in Hopewell Junction, had experienced some sort of explosion in the kitchen area.

Once the police officers arrived on the scene they noticed structural damage as well as a strong marijuana odor. There were no injuries reported in the explosion and there was no fire, however neighbors reported to police that the home owners son was inside when the explosion occurred.

The suspected allegedly took off on foot before police showed up to the scene.

During the investigation police "discovered the home was not being used as a residence but rather a marijuana growing and processing operation." Several marijuana plants, products and paraphernalia were secured from the scene by the East Fishkill Police along with help from The Dutchess County Drug Task Force.

According to the Facebook post, the East Fishkill fire department investigators concluded the explosion happened inside the refrigerator where police say marijuana Wwax was being stored.
