People are taking the 10 Year Challenge on Facebook and there's a conspiracy theory that the social media giant is collecting your data.

If you have been on either Instagram or Facebook recently you've most likely seen people post side by side photos of themselves. One photo is either their first ever profile picture or a photo from 10 years ago. The other picture is supposed to be the last picture taken of you. The object is to show how much you've ages since then. Sounds innocent, right?

What if I told you there's a theory that Facebook is collecting data for facial recognition software.

According to Wired.com, this could be the case.

We could be used to help facial recognition algorithms. Are we helping Skynet?

Not likely. It actually could be a good thing. In fact, it could be being used to help police get an idea of what missing children could look like years later.

That's just one example. If this is true, is this an invasion of privacy?
