Poughkeepsie Sexual Abuse Felon Will Now Serve 20 Years

Sentencing took place today for a Poughkeepsie man following multiple allegations of sexual conduct with minors dating back to 2014. The alleged entered into a guilty plea earlier this year.

Poughkeepsie Resident Engaged In Several Sexual Acts With Minors

Now aged 59, Poughkeepsie resident Natalio Figueroa has been sentenced for crimes dating back more than a decade.  On February 21, 2025, Figueroa admitted that during the three year span from March 2014 until March 2017, he 'engaged in more than two acts of sexual conduct' with a child less than eleven years old.

During that same court appearance, Figueroa admitted that years later, in October of 2019, he attempted to engage in sexual intercourse with another child, this one less than 13 years of age.

District Attorney Calls Poughkeepsie Man's Acts 'Pure Evil'

Figueroa's guilty plea in February to pleading guilty to Attempted Rape in the First Degree, a Class C Violent Felony, Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony, has resulted in a significant amount of jail time and post-release ramifications.

During sentencing on Friday April 25th, The Honorable Edward McLoughlin imposed a sentence of 20 years in prison, and 20 years of post-release supervision for Figueroa, the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office announced in an official statement.

He is also required to register as a sexual offender upon his release from prison.

Regarding Figueroa's crimes, Dutchess County DA Anthony Parisi shared the following:

This defendant committed acts of pure evil — calculated, predatory abuse that shattered the innocence of two defenseless children. The trauma these victims endured is unimaginable, and no sentence can truly measure the devastation left behind. But today’s outcome ensures that this predator will not walk free for a very long time.
