Terrific Locations to Film The White Lotus in the Hudson Valley
The White Lotus has American pop culture in a chokehold. From finale watch parties to everybody and their mother doing their best Victoria impersonation (the word tsunami will now haunt my dreams forever), we can't seem to get enough.
Here's the thing, though; fancy rich people don't just go to tropical locations. As any local resident knows, luxury destinations in our area are becoming nearly as popular as our hiking trails and campgrounds. So what if The White Lotus filmed their next season in the Hudson Valley?
Honorable Mention: Mohonk Mountain House
Mohonk is certainly the most well-known resort in the Hudson Valley, and even though they have high-end clientele (not to mention the shows and movies that have already been filmed there), it doesn't feel like the best fit.
Guests at Mohonk come specifically to engage in activities like hiking, rowing, and horseback riding, and the hotel itself was founded on Quaker values... not exactly the right environment to encourage the behaviors seen on The White Lotus. On to the next choice...
Chuang Yen Monastery in Carmel, NY
To be fair, this monastery is only on the list thanks to the heavy Buddhist themes from Season 3 (add Piper Posey's pronunciation of "Buddhism" to the aforementioned "tsunami"). For a Buddhist retreat spinoff, however, the monastery, which has the largest Buddha statue in the western hemisphere, could be a great option.
Wildflower Farms by Auberge Resorts in Gardiner, NY
Wildflower Farms might be the best choice for season 4 of The White Lotus. Not only do they attract fancy guests (at least judging by their parking lot full of Range Rovers), but the layout would be perfect for the show.
Wildflower is situated on a sprawling property, and instead of a traditional hotel setup, the resort has individual cabins, cottages, and suites (above, background). That means characters could slip in and out of of clandestine meetings unnoticed before rejoining their group to head to the spa.

It seems like The White Lotus might always be shot near an ocean (and in a foreign country), but there could be fireworks if they decided to bring their crew to the Hudson Valley. With a strong history of being welcoming to the film and television industry, it could be the perfect fit. Check out some examples of past successes below.
