Now that we are officially heading into Fall, it is time to check in at your local firehouse to see what they have planned for the rest of the year. Some will have breakfasts and fire safety events. Others may even plan a visit with Santa. No matter what, I am going to try to keep you up to date.

Here are a few things I found that are happening at some of our local firehouses. Be sure to check in at yours and then let us know about it so we can share and hopefully add to the community support.

Esopus Fire Department is Giving You A Chance to Win Headless Horseman Tickets

Now Through While Supplies Last - The Esopus Firehouse is selling raffle tickets. Only 100 tickets will be sold, and the prizes are a four-pack of tickets to Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses. Click here to buy your raffle ticket, which supports the Esopus Fire Department. They also announced they will be bringing back the 5K in 2026.

Saturday, September 27th, 2025 - Putnam Lake Fire Department is holding A First Annual Touch A Truck and Fire Safety Event. Join them from 10 AM to 3 PM at Green Chimneys, 400 Doansburg Road in Brewster. The event will be in the Otter Lot (by the Swamp). Come meet your local firefighter and see the truck at this exciting family fun day filled with trucks and important fire tips.

Sunday, October 5th, 2025 - The Port Ewen Ladies Auxiliary is holding a Penny Social. The event kicks off at 12 PM, with calling starting at 2 PM. There are exciting prizes for all ages. Refreshments will be available. Join the fun at the firehouse at 129 Legion Court in Port Ewen.

Saturday, October 18th, 2025 - Gardiner Fire and Rescue will hold its 2nd Annual Craft Fair and Bake Sale. Fun goes from 9 AM to 3 PM at Gardiner Fire & Rescue at 2349 Route 44/55, Gardiner.
