Fishkill Police Chase Down Unusual Group of Escapees
Another exciting weekend in the Hudson Valley, and yet another one of those moments where if you happened to be driving down one of our local roads you may have had to slow down or stop to take a double take. Did I just see what I think I did?

Yes, yes you did.

All In A Day's Work In Fishkill
The Town of Fishkill Police Department had an interesting Sunday afternoon. I wonder if the academy prepares officers for this type of pursuit.
On Sunday, August 16th, town police posted on social media about some 'escapees roaming around town.'
If you are missing a black cow, a couple of sheep and a handful of goats, our officers saw them this morning near Van Wyck Lake Road.
If they are yours, give our desk a call and we can fill you in on the rest of the details.

I think the little guy all the way to the left in this photo looks kind of suspicicous.
Naturally, the comment section of their post on Facebook did not disappoint, with people calling dibs on certain animals pictured in the photo while others suggested local farms that may be missing some of their four-legged friends.
There was even one very creative comment from a local resident who provided a hysterical parody news story play-by-play.

Back In The Barn & Accounted For
Following a short pursuit, the Town of Fishkill Police Department provided an evening briefing on the great [farm] escape of 2026:
Update as of 5:30 pm: After a bit of a foot pursuit, all subjects were taken into custody and are now safely back in their barn.
Thanks to all the citizens who helped get these guys back home!

I'm just wondering which one in this mischievous crew was the ring leader to round up the rest of the gang and break out. Regardless, to the Town of Fishkill PD, thank you for making sure that ALL of Fishkill's residents are safe and accounted for!
