Flipped Semi Causing Delay on Rte 9N in Poughkeepsie This Morning

Commuters were puzzled this morning when taffic came to sudden stop. As they creeped up closer it was obvious there was an accident and a major one because there were several emergency vehicles on the scene. Drivers quickly learned why they were not getting waved through. A semi and trailer flipped over and blocked all lanes going north as of 5:45am this morning.

The accident took place near this intersection and drivers heading north were being rerouted.

The lanes may slowly open up but the cleanup will most likely occur all morning until the early afternoon.

UPDATE: One lane is now open.
