There's nothing worse than starting the work week with rainy, overcast skies and the promise of more of the same for the rest of the week. Yesterday, the National Weather Service had issued a Flood Watch in effect until 8 am on Thursday, but today that changed.

The National Weather Service has extended the Flood Watch until 8 am this Saturday morning and as of today's 4:20 afternoon update, it's possible that some Hudson Valley waterways could reach minor stage flooding by tonight.

If you live in a flood-prone area, you need to be ready to take action should flooding occur and don't ever drive your car through water that is crossing the road. It's too dangerous.

While we will get a break tomorrow, with some sunshine and highs in the low 60's, a second storm system is expected to bring between one and two inches of rain to our area Wednesday night into Friday.

We'll keep an eye on this and pass along any updates as we get them. In the meantime, your umbrella will be your most important fashion accessory for the week, and possibly hip boots by the time Friday rolls around.
