New Free Breakfast Program Just Started in Dutchess County
A brand new program has just launched in Dutchess County that provides free breakfasts for anyone in need.
One of the best parts about living in the Hudson Valley is seeing the different ways local communities come together to help their neighbors. This week, the most recent example kicked off in Beacon, NY.
New Free Breakfast Program Launched in Beacon, NY
"Please spread the word", began a recent post from the Town of Fishkill on Facebook (below). The following announcement shared the beginning of a brand new free breakfast program hosted by Beacon's Backyard.

The breakfasts, which run Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30am to 8:30am is a community program made possible through generous donations, both of time and food.
Volunteers and Food Donations for Beacon's Backyard's Free Breakfast Program
"We are thrilled with all of our volunteers who participated in our first day of a free breakfast. We are grateful to Ember and Grain for donating the focaccia that we used for our turkey sandwiches", Beacon's Backyard posted after their first day of service (below).
Beacon's Backyard is located at 12 Hanna Lane in Beacon, NY. With only two days of service under their belts, Beacon's Backyard already says they are "blown away" by the community response (more information to volunteer or donate can be found on Beacon's Backyard's Facebook page).

It's amazing what a group of dedicated people can accomplish. While volunteers in Beacon were helping feed their neighbors, a different type of program also made use of volunteers further north. Check out the Saranac Lake's Ice Palace below.
