End of the K-12 school year excitement plus Hudson Valley heatwave = ice cream, obviously. No shame in my parenting game, with this hot weather and humidity it hasn't taken much convincing for my little one to get ice cream for dinner, why not?

Free Ice Cream Cone Day!

School's out for summer, so ice cream is the clear and obvious way to celebrate with your little ones on Wednesday, June 26th. At East Fishkill Provisions, the Old Hopewell Road location only, they'll be serving up free cones all day.

Not that you need any further convincing, but East Fishkill Provisions has a pretty extensive ice cream menu (whether you're planning to visit for free cone day or at another time). More than 20 flavors to pick from, sundaes, flurries, shakes, ice cream sandwiches, floats, cups, cones and even banana splits. There's also the giant (covered) pavilion, so rain or shine, your ice cream experience is not at risk!

End Of School Year Traditions?

My daughter is wrapping up fourth grade this year, and we've shifted from the last day of school lunch to ice cream. We learned the hard way that pretty much everyone was going to the diner on that last half-day and it was insanely crowded, so ice cream for the win. Ice cream for lunch has also made it a bit easier to convince her that cleaning out her backpack and organizing what supplies can be salvaged for the next school year immediately is better than a pile of broken pencils and half used notebooks on my dining room table for weeks...
