On Monday, the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook about a very unusual arrest.
Acting Sheriff Kirk A. Imperati announced that on Sunday, Dec. 19, members of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau located and apprehended an individual known as "the Mean One" or AKA the “Grinch.”
Police add the "Grinch" was arrested for trying to steal "holiday cheer!"
The "Grinch" was escorted in a police cruiser around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Despite being taken away, the "Grinch" seemed in good spirits as he waved at the camera while the police cruiser pulled away.
Acting Sheriff Imperati added the investigation was a collaborative effort between Deputy Sheriffs assigned to the Patrol Division and Detective Bureau, that led to a swift and successful arrest.
Police did not say where in Dutchess County the "Grinch" was trying to steal "holiday cheer." Bail terms weren't released.
"Another great job by the men and women of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, and Happy Holidays to all," the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook.
