So close yet so far away!

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal a group of staff from the Dover Union Free School District was just one number away from winning a million dollars in wednesday nights Powerball jackpot.

It total 71 people all threw into the pot, purchasing 177 chances to win and sure enough one set of numbers came in big time, bring the group $50,000. Sadly had they had just one more the group would have been splitting one million dollars instead.

The winning ticket matched 4, 8, 27, 34 and the Powerball number, 10. The rouge number...9...instead of 19! Come one man!

All in all the group did better than the most of us out there. Before taxes each participant will take home about $700.

The group of 71 individuals matched all but one number on one of the 177 chances they purchased. By matching four numbers and the Powerball number, the group will split $50,000. That's about $700 each, before taxes.
