David and Jenny Carr are the founders of Gravestone Guardians, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the maintenance and restoration of historic gravestones. Recently, their focus landed on the graveyard at Saint Mary of the Snow in Saugerties, NY.

The restoration cost at Saint Mary of the Snow is estimated at $2,500. To help raise funds, a raffle is being held with a prize that nearly every New Yorker can get behind: tickets to this year's Subway Series.

"The St. Mary of the Snow Restoration Project raffle is going strong — but we still need YOUR help to reach our goal before the April 30th drawing!", began a recent post from Gravestone Guardians founder Dave Carr.

On Saturday, April 26th, volunteers are welcome to join Gravestone Guardians at St. Mary of the Snow from 10am-3pm. Activities will include grounds maintenance, prepping broken gravestones for repair, and more. Additional information about the event is available here.
