Police warned the public after a sex offender with a high-risk of a repeat offense moved near a Hudson Valley elementary school and two parks.

Harry Nichols, 60, moved from Green Street in Kingston to an apartment on Murray Street in Kingston, according to Kingston police.

The Level-3 sex offender was convicted in 1993 for sexually abusing a woman in Kingston. Nichols punched the woman and hit her with a club before sexually abusing her, according to the New York State Sex Offender's database. He was sentenced to three to six years in prison.

Nichols has gone by the aliases of Harry Skeeter, Frank Christable, Harry James and Christopher James, officials say.

The 60-year-old's new home is 0.3 miles from John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Kingston and within walking distance of Hasbrouck Park and Kingman Park, according to Google Maps.

Level-3 sex offenders are considered to have the highest risk of a repeat offense and are considered the greatest risk to the public.
