Check out this cool coyote casually strolling through Hopewell Junction! A local resident captured the wild visitor on video and shared it on R/Hudsonvalley, sparking plenty of reactions from the community.

One user kicked off the comments with, “If not friend, why friend shaped?” It’s clear that seeing a coyote up close has a way of bringing out everyone’s inner comedian.

Reddit being Reddit, the post quickly became a mix of genuine advice and hilarious comments, half concern, half stand-up routine.

While there were some jokes, others shared real concerns about keeping pets safe and avoiding potential dangers. “If there’s one, there’s many,” warned one commenter, while another noted that they’d heard a group of them howling in Millbrook the night before, describing the sound as “haunting.”

Coyotes have been more active lately, and it’s common to see them out during the day. According to Westchester Wildlife, coyotes often alter their daily habits to avoid human conflict, and daytime sightings are perfectly normal.

Despite the warnings, some couldn’t help but admire the wild visitor. “Heck yeah, that’s awesome,” one person commented, clearly thrilled about living so close to nature. The coyote appeared healthy and well-fed, which might explain why it ventured so close to homes.

The most heartwarming moment, however, came from a child’s innocent reaction in the video. You can hear them ask, “Can we pet him?” It’s a sweet reminder of how curious and unafraid kids can be, but it's not something you want to try in real life!

If you’ve been seeing more of these critters around your neighborhood, keeping a safe distance and enjoying them from afar is a good idea. While coyotes are fascinating, they are still wild animals, and safety should always come.

Spirit Halloween Relaunches Spirit Christmas with 3 New York Locations

Spirit Christmas is a seasonal retail store operated by Spencer Spirit Holdings. A sister brand to Spirit Halloween, the store offers various decorations and costumes for the Christmas season, along with visits from Santa Claus. If you're expecting it to be a spooky kind of Christmas store, don't. It will be a tried and true Christmas store.

At some point, the 1990’s incarnation of the store was discontinued. Spencer Gifts tested the concept themselves after acquiring the Spirit Halloween brand in 1999, operating their own Spirit Christmas stores in 2005 and 2006. In 2024, the store was revived once more, with 10 locations set to open. Below, you can find the full list of locations
