How To Register For Poughkeepsie’s Free Fall Bulk Pickup Service
The City of Poughkeepsie is offering free fall curbside bulk pickup on Saturday, Oct. 5. Residents can sign up between Sept. 23-27 and Sept. 30-Oct. 4 by calling (845) 451-4111 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The limit is five items per household, and prohibited items include construction debris, Freon, paint, batteries, propane tanks, recyclables, and hazardous waste.
While many residents appreciate the service, some have lingering questions. There's a need for clearer guidelines on what can be placed at the curb.
One common question is whether the five-item limit applies to each unit in multi-family properties. It would also be helpful to have a direct sign-up link to simplify the process, making it easier for landlords and tenants alike.
I would like to have a clear list of what can and cannot be placed at the curbside for fall curbside pickup. It would be great to have this information especially for landlords to share with their tenants. The prohibited list is helpful, but it can be confusing for tenants to know what items are allowed.
Also, do you happen to know how many items are allowed for a multi-family property? Is it 5 items maximum per apartment? I would greatly appreciate a direct link for sign-ups for this service, even if it's just a Google Form. Thank you for providing this service, it is much appreciated!
The city recently ran into a small issue with QR codes on sanitation bills not working properly.
Thankfully, the city quickly provided a working link for online payments:

Residents can also mail payments to City of Poughkeepsie, Sanitation, at 62 Civic Center Plaza, or contact the sanitation department with billing inquiries at (845) 451-4071 or (845) 451-4045.
Despite the hiccup with the QR codes, the city’s free bulk pickup service is a valuable offering that many are eager to take advantage of this October.
