The Geminids meteor shower will be at its peak when it reaches the Hudson Valley this month.

Patch reports that the Geminids meteor shower is expected to pass over the Hudson Valley starting Friday, December 7. The shower will hit its peak between Thursday, December 13 and Friday, December 14.

The best way to watch the meteor shower is obviously in good weather conditions. Considering the event is about a week away, it's hard to tell how the weather will be by then. After all, it's just about winter time in the  Hudson Valley so literally anything could happen with the weather. Patch says that there is a small chance of snow on Thursday, December 13, clear skies Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15, and cloudy skies Sunday, December 16.

Meteors could begin flying by in the Hudson Valley as early as 9 or 10 p.m. on Thursday, December 13. Patch reports that the best time for the shower will be about 2 a.m. on Friday, December 14.

The Geminids meteor shower is known for their multicolored meteors and long tails, according to Patch.
