Tonight, about one month after being released from prison for her role in her fiancé's death, Angelika Graswald will discuss the death and more on national T.V.

In July 2017, Angelika Graswald pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide in connection with the drowning death of her fiancé on April 19, 2015.

Graswald admitted she pulled the plug from her fiancé’s kayak, Vincent Viafore, 46, of Poughkeepsie. She also confessed that her actions resulted in Viafore’s death.

She also admitted that she knew conditions that day were dangerous and she “deviated from the standard of conduct that a reasonable person would have observed in the situation.”

She also allegedly moved the Poughkeepsie man’s paddle away from him as he was drowning in the 46-degree Hudson River.

The sentence for criminally negligent homicide carries a 1 1/3 to 4-year prison term.

Graswald already spent two years in prison prior to pleading guilty. She was officially released from prison in December 2017.

On Friday, Graswald will sit down with 20/20 anchor Elizabeth Vargas in her first TV interview since being released from prison.

Broadway World reports Graswald will discuss the events that led to her fiancé’s death and talk about her life now, as a free woman.

The hour-long program will also include footage of Graswald’s 911 call, her interrogation tape, interviews with her lawyer and mother, as well as footage of Graswald being released from prison.

Todd Wright, a kayak expert, went back to the Hudson River and will share his thoughts.

Officials believe Graswald’s motive was that she would receive $250,000 as the main recipient in Viafore’s life insurance policiesMoney that she is entitled to unless Viafore's family proves Graswald recklessly caused his death.
