On Friday, Kaliek Goode-Ford, 30, of Newburgh was indicted by an Orange County grand jury and charged with three counts of first-degree murder, three counts of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.

Goode-Ford is accused of killing Jimmy Crisantos, 27, Shatavia Crisantos, 26, and 9-year-old Giovanni Tambino, Shatavia’s son from a previous relationship, in their Town of Newburgh home on Jan. 26.

A fourth victim, the Cristantos' 3-year-old son, was shot five times by Goode-Ford, police say. The three-year-old survived. It's alleged Goode-Ford shot the family using a 9mm pistol with an extended magazine.

“Obviously, the intentional shooting of a mother, father and two young children inside their home is among the most heinous atrocities imaginable,” Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler said. “My deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased members of this family and I hope the youngest victim can someday recover from physical wounds of this senseless attack."

According to the Town of Newburgh Police Department, Goode-Ford knew the victims but a motive remains unclear. A GoFundMe was started to help the surviving members of the Crisantos family.

It's expected Goode-Ford will be arraigned in Orange County Court on Feb. 18. He faces life in prison if convicted.
